Heavy equipment is subject to abuse and stresses over the years, meaning it may not fit the same measurements today as it did when it first rolled out of the factory. This means when your OEM replacement parts show up, it may not fit the same as it did originally.
The owner had two new loaders, and wisely planned to install bucket wear liners; before they started to show significant wear. He had purchased two identical loaders and wanted wear liners installed in each of them.
SURPRISINGLY, THE TWO NEW BUCKETS JADCO MEASURED WERE NOT THE SAME SIZE!
The length of the bucket bottom straight, from the back of the base edge to where the bucket starts to curve up the back; was 1.5” LONGER on one of the buckets than the other.
Had we measured just one bucket and delivered two wear liners, he would have had one of the liners short or too long. He might have thought we didn’t measure it correctly, when it was the equipment that was different. It surprised everyone involved.
