JADCO • Rich F.2025-05-10T07:57:58-04:00Uncertain if your screw conveyor is Right Hand or Left Hand? Wonder no more…
Notice the right hand or left hand flight direction remains the same. Which one you need depends on the rotation and your material flow direction.
Here Is A Quick Example:
A papermill reliability engineer called JADCO to quote a new Lime Slaker Screw. They were impressed with the longer life they experienced using CHROMEWELD 600 ™ to resolve a prior troublesome wear application. When asked if their screw was right or left handed, he wasn’t sure.
Most major screw manufacturers offering low priced screws, often use mild steel for their flight material. Can you afford to shut down your production to frequently change them out?
JADCO delivers the longest lasting screw conveyors in your industry.
The following information is needed to quote your screw, along with some common terms used to describe items making up a screw conveyor:
Pipes and tubing come in standard sizes, making them easy to identify. This is the Inside Dimension of your flights. Using the squares, also determine the Outside Dimension of the flight.
JADCO CHROMEWELD 600 ™ is the industry standard for long lasting flights. Here you can see the wear life difference compared to mild steel and AR500, commonly used to make screw flights. How long do your flights last?
Barrel: How long is it?
Are there flanges or shafts on the end? Is there hardfacing or a wear resistant protective cover in the drop area? Photos and sketches will help to get you the most accurate price.
If your barrel and drive ends are still in good shape, we can often rebuild them with new flights to save you substantial investment.
Flights: What is the Outside Diameter and Inside Diameter? What is the flight made from? What is the flight thickness? Is there additional hardfacing material on the flight?
