After using ¾” AR400 for decades in the feeder to their jaw crusher, they always limped their crushing equipment along trying to make the end of the season. By that point, their feeder liners were completely shot.
Following the longer wear life results they experienced using QT-PLUS ® cheek plates in their Metso jaw crusher, they promptly looked for the next weakest link in their system. They reviewed each piece of equipment that wouldn’t make it through a complete crushing season. Their next wear plate conversion to JADCO wear resistant steel was the jaw feeder.
In 2024 they installed a new QT-PLUS ® feeder floor liner, planning to make it through the entire season without a breakdown.
But They Wanted More Production!
Their production target for the 2024 crushing season was 1.5 million tons. The photo above shows very little wear close to the end of the season. When they did shut down, they were just starting to see some wear around the bolt hole areas.
