CHROMEWELD 3D is an application specific, custom manufactured through thickness hardfacing of components designed to withstand extreme levels of abrasion, impact, as well as thermal fatigue.

CHROMEWELD™ 3D Difference
To better understand ChromeweldTM 3D, it may be good to first discuss traditional hardfacing.
Traditional hardfacing provides wear protection to the surfaces of components. Once the outer surface coating is worn through, the wear rate will now be based on the wear resistance of the base material of the component. In some wear applications, the wear components are designed to be quite thick to allow for a lot of mass loss prior to replacement. Traditional “surface” coating hardfacing practices may then only provide marginal increases in wear life when compared to the allowable mass loss of the wear component.
