Midwest Foundry Selects QT-PLUS ® For Equipment Upgrade
Kirsh Foundry Incorporated, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, just completed a capital equipment upgrade, and selected JADCO’s QT-PLUS® for their major wear components. They chose General Kinematics to provide several pieces of new equipment for their system.
One question we often hear:
“Is QT-PLUS® formable?”
This Sorting Shaker features QT-PLUS ® for their replaceable wear elements. The foundry has successfully used JADCO QT-PLUS ® for years in several high wear locations within their system.
JADCO formed and countersunk the holes to bolt down the wear plates. General Kinematics approved the submitted sample, to assure it fit as designed. Here you can see how precisely they fit over the structural steel base metal.
Certainly, to form QT-PLUS ® you need to have a press brake with enough power to move the steel. Whatever the thickest mild steel you can form, you should be able to form 25% of that thickness. If you can form 1” A36 steel, you can only form ¼” QT-PLUS ®.

Take the worry out of welding wear resistant steel, by using FUSION™ joining and hardfacing alloys designed specifically for wear plate applications.
