Is Your Loader Made With Lighter Steel?
JADCO • Rich F.2023-10-11T09:58:12-04:00Every manufacturer is looking to cut costs in any possible way, to give their customers the lowest price; to win the sale. Mining and aggregate equipment manufacturers understand reducing the steel thickness will be less expensive, which equals less weight.
Their marketing people promote the vehicle’s lighter weight as a good thing, since less weight means it should be more fuel efficient. Certainly, this is true to a point.
Looking at it from the daily wear and misuse it endures, the impact and high stresses from heavy rock on lighter thickness steel can easily deform your loader bucket.
When the abuse reaches the point where you have to make repairs, you need to consider installing a liner. At this point trying to fix your battered bucket requires substantially more time.
All This Adds Up To:
- Increased labor hours trying to repair your beat-up bucket to fit the new liner.
- Less production revenue with your machine being out of service longer, naturally production, revenue and profits drop.
- Installing a partial liner over the floor protects that area, but the curve on back of the bucket continues to take a real beating. When you have to repair that area when there are holes in it; it will take even longer to repair.
What Should You Do Instead?

*Note: The ‘Rock Kicker’; this wedge shaped piece on the side of the bucket is there to kick large rocks away from damaging the front tires or the wheels. Rock Kickers are made from JADCO QT-PLUS ® to handle heavy impact and grinding abrasion.
JADCO Will Not Recommend Any Wear Resistant Steel Products, Unless They Will Improve Your Results.
Our entire CHROMEWELD family of Chrome Carbide Overlay (CCO) products are made at our headquarters in Harmony, PA, 30 minutes North of Pittsburgh.
As the leading manufacturer of CCO plate in the USA, you can depend on the results you get from JADCO. Most steel distributors buy foreign CCO which has little carbide content, and even less quality control.
To make certain we deliver the highest quality material to our customers, JADCO has created our own clad machines. This gives us total control over every aspect of making our industry leading CHROMEWELD overlay plate.
Never consider CHROMEWELD as just a “One Size Fits All” wear plate. Our customers are always looking for continuous improvement, and rely upon JADCO to create new products to address their specific wear challenges.
This further improves your wear plate life by having the Research and Development for these products completed and proven in real world applications. Before you ever install them in your equipment.
For over the last 43+ years JADCO has focused exclusively on delivering consistent, longer equipment life for our customers.
Now you understand why we are able to deliver better results to our customers. We think differently by strictly focusing to improve your current results.
