We often talk about through hardness with QT-PLUS ®. This chart shows results from an ASTM A255 independent laboratory test for hardness starting at the surface, shown at 0”, testing deeper into the steel in ¼” increments below the surface. This is what happens when your steel wears. How wear resistant is the steel when partially worn? This is why you experience accelerated wear once it gets through the first ¼” of material.
This ‘Competitor’ also claims their wear plate is ‘Through Hardened’. That certainly doesn’t seem to be the case here, while QT-PLUS® delivers exactly the same hardness from top to bottom. Which will you choose to protect your equipment investment?
